Sh2-187 in Cassiopeia

Sharpless 2-187 is a seldom imaged emission nebula in Cassiopeia lying at a distance of 4,700 light-years from Earth. It is also designated as Lynds Bright Nebula (LBN) 126 and it is embedded in Lynds Dark Nebula (LDN) 1317. The stars born within it are estimated to have ages of only 100,000 to 200,000 years and the entire complex lies within a beautiful field of colorful Milky Way stars. It also appears to have a tiny version of a horse head nebula silhouetted against its bright center.

Exposures: Ha:R:G:B = 720:45:45:45 minutes = 14 hours, 15 minutes total exposure at f/6.8, all completely unguided.
