NGC 6384 in Ophiuchus

NGC 6384 is a barred spiral galaxy lying 77 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is thought to have a structure very similar to that of our Milky Way galaxy with a subtle bar. It is larger than our Milky Way with a diameter of 150,000 light-years. It has had several supernovas in the past century, making it similar to NGC 6946, the Fireworks Galaxy in Cygnus.
