M74 is a face-on Hubble Class Sc, or Grand Design, spiral galaxy. It lies 32 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Pisces. It has the second lowest surface brightness of any Messier galaxy, being second only to M101 in Ursa Major, and therefore is not an easy object to image from a light-polluted city.
Exposures: L:R:G:B = 185:95:95:95 = 7 hours, 50 minutes total exposure, completely unguided.
