LDN 1622, The Boogey Man Nebula in Orion

Lynds Dark Nebula 1622 in Orion is known as the Boogey Man Nebula because the dark, shadowy figure resembles a large man with head, trunk, arms, and legs. It lies in Orion at a distance of about 500 light-years. The star forming region vdm 62 is to the right of the Boogey Man’s head. The entire complex is backlit by hydrogen=alpha nebulosity that is part of Barnard’s Loop.

Exposures: Ha:L:R:G:B = 1095:30:30:30:30 minutes =0.5 hours 20 hours, 15 minutes total exposure, completely unguided.
