DomeProU-d Electronics and Motor

The large gray box on the observatory wall at the right of this image is the main electronics cabinet for the DomeProU-d observatory control system. This is made by Astrometrics Instruments and is used to control the 10’6” Ash Dome via a program called Maestro4 on the laptop at left. It will open and close the main overhead shutter. It will also rotate the dome. At top left is the dome rotation motor and that also includes an encoder for the dome azimuth. The main cabinet has a wireless antenna so that it can communicate with the electronics cabinet on the opposite side of the dome that opens and closes the lower. These operations can also be performed manually when inside the dome using the blue and yellow push buttons on the black panel on the electronics cabinet.
