NGC 5907, The Needle Galaxy in Draco

NGC 5907 is spiral galaxy in Draco seen nearly edge-on and with its core almost perfectly bisected by its dust lane. It is likely a Hubble Class Sc galaxy with a small central bulge, not much wider than the galaxy's disk. Because of this distinctive profile, NGC 5907 is known as the Needle Galaxy or Splinter Galaxy, which lies 50 million light-years from Earth. Exposures:L:R:G:B=165:60:60:60 = 5hours 45 minutes total exposure, completely unguided.
