M31, The Andromeda Galaxy, Southern Third

The Andromeda Galaxy, M31, is so large in the sky that it cannot fit into the field of view of my telescope and CCD camera. I had to shoot it in three separate panels: one of the northern third, one of the central third, and one of the southern third. This is the panel of the southern third. This region contains more hydrogen-alpha nebulosity than anywhere else in the galaxy. It is great fun to just zoom in on portions of this image and explore the details within the Andromeda Galaxy.

Exposures: Ha:L:R:G:B =450:135:60:50:105 = 13 hours, 20 minutes total exposure, completely unguided.
